The Museum Associate serves as a front-line representative of the museum, ensuring an outstanding and welcoming experience for all visitors. As part of the Guest Services team, this position supports admissions, visitor engagement, wayfinding, gallery monitoring, and events, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment for guests. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and welcome visitors, assist with wayfinding, offer information about the exhibitions, programs, and amenities.
  • Process admissions, memberships, and program/event ticket sales with accuracy.
  • Monitor galleries to safeguard the collection and ensure adherence to museum policies.
  • Support store or special events as needed.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor when handling visitor inquiries, feedback, or concerns.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or a cultural organization preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Comfort with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and basic technology.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout galleries.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Interest in art, culture, and museums is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Public-facing role requiring frequent interaction with visitors.
  • May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.), walking, and standing for long periods.
  • Professional attire required.
