teaching and family resources

Teacher Resources complement our Teacher Workshops, supporting classroom learning through interdisciplinary connections between art and academic subjects. They provide practical strategies for integrating the arts into learning while emphasizing the development of close observation and critical thinking.

In art-making workshops, educators engage in the creative process, explore techniques and materials to integrate into their classroom, and reflect on how these activities can enhance students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression. Teacher workshops offer Act 48 credits.

Please note that particular works mentioned in guides may not be on view when you visit. High resolution images of works in our collection can be found on our Collection page.

See how this works with the narrative art of Edith Neff (1943-1995). A Leading realist painter of her day, Neff was praised for her dynamic composition, sophisticated use of color, and her ability to portray drama in everyday life.
