Feldman, Eugene

Feldman attended the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art (now the University of the Arts). He was the founder of Falcon Press in Philadelphia and professor of fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania. Feldman experimented with commercial printing techniques as well as the integration of photography and lithography. He is admired for expanding the traditional boundaries of fine art printmaking. He shaped and influenced printmaking in Philadelphia by teaching print techniques and skills to countless young artists. He was active in Philadelphia from the early 1950s until his death in 1975.

Feldman’s prints are in the collections of the Library of Congress, Washington, DC; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Philadelphia Museum of Art; and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
