Feminist Focus: Fifty Years of Women’s Art in Philadelphia
In partnership with the Re-Focus (1974-2024) exhibition at Moore College of Art & Design, Professor Patricia Likos Ricci, Distinguished Professor of the History of Art, Elizabethtown College, traces the developments in women’s art from a feminist perspective over the past fifty years, demonstrating considerable change and expansion of issues. Dr. Ricci focuses particularly on women artists of color and LGBTQ artists.

Artists Syd Carpenter and Andrea Packard will discuss the profound influence and impact she has made through artworks inspired by the mythology and culture of Africa and its diaspora and experiences rooted in memories, dreams, and history. What's in a Name? George Biddle and the Biddle Dynasty
Born into an illustrious Philadelphia family of politicians, bankers, and lawyers, artist George Biddle distanced himself from his relatives and the society he felt they represented. This talk by John Vick, Director of Collections, Interpretation, and Engagement, The Andalusia Foundation, sketches out 300 years of Biddle history and profiles some of the family’s more unique characters, suggesting that George had more in common with them than he wanted to admit.
