Pinto, Angelo
Description
There were six siblings in the Pinto family (in descending age order): Grace, Salvatore, Angelo, Biagio, Dominic, and Joseph. Together with his brothers Salvatore and Biagio, Angelo studied art with Dr. Albert C. Barnes in the late 1920s. Barnes took the Pinto brothers under his wing, not only sending them to Europe to observe and learn directly from European modernists, but also hanging their paintings in his collection and hiring them as teachers at the Barnes Foundation. Angelo taught at the foundation for nearly six decades.
