Description

Gaughan participated in three exhibitions with the Philadelphia Abstract Artists and showed frequently with its members. he studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), and won a number of prizes in the 1960s from PAFA, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, the Philadelphia Teachers Association, and other prominent organizations. He taught at the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial and had a solo exhibition there in 1961. Gaughan’s paintings are in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Woodmere Art Museum.
