Charkow Hollander was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. After serving on the faculty of the Philadelphia College of Art for thirteen years from 1959 to 1972, she went on to teach in the MFA programs at the Yale School of Art, the University of Pennsylvania, Indiana University, and New York Studio School. Her work is included in museum collections across the country and around the world.
