Description

Shils, who was born in Philadelphia, lives in Mount Airy and has painted outdoors, en plein air, for thirty years. He teaches at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he also studied painting as a student of Arthur De Costa and Seymour Remenick. Shils also teaches in the Jerusalem Studio School’s summer program in Italy. He has been a visiting artist at a number of national and international schools and institutions.
