Description

Aftensol evokes the textures of bark or a gnarled tree knot, its surface rich with earthy tones of green and deep brown. Created using lost wax casting, the form feels unbound—its organic edges suggesting growth rather than structure. Skoogfors often explored nature-inspired abstraction, and here he captures a sense of stillness and memory through material and texture. The work resists rigid interpretation, embracing imperfection and transformation. Like much of Skoogfors’s work, it reflects a deep connection to natural forms and the expressive potential of metal.
