In this work, Twins acknowledges his sense that life on our planet is precarious. He depicts US President George W. Bush attempting to carry a fragmented globe on his shoulders as he balances on an unsteady boat. Figures in another vessel wave flags as a stadium of onlookers watch the spectacle.
By the mid-2000s, Twins was an artist in residence at Material Culture, an imports retailer in the East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia, and experimenting with various methods of lithography and digital printmaking. Just as his career was rebuilding momentum, his life was tragically cut short: he died unexpectedly during a visit to Nigeria in 2011.
