Robert Riggs often returned to the subject of nude male swimmers, whether outside or at the Germantown Boys’ Club (see, for example, Nude Swimmers by Arched Stone Bridge). In this watercolor, youths in various of stages of undress climb up a stepped structure and plunge into the water.
