In Sea Souvenirs, water splashes over rocks where shells and mollusks have washed up, and an oddly shaped piece of driftwood occupies the center of the canvas. Meltzer conveys the textures and subtle coloring of the shells and the foam of the cascading sea. He combines the qualities of still life and landscape painting.
