Summer Landscape

In comparison with its Autumn companion here at Woodmere, Summer Landscape evokes the life of our warmest months with a vibrant and detailed depiction of gathered trees. In the verdant scenery, warmth is attributed to the early morning sunshine coming in from the right. Casilear paints the above sky as a soft gradation. A trail meanders from the bottom center of the work as if to suggest that you the viewer are on this path.
