Description

Inspired by the Pop Art movement of the 1950s and ’60s, Robin transforms ordinary objects—here, a teapot—into monumental sculpture. The decorative flourishes are playful, as is the cast iron material, which is more usually associated with frying pans. Walk around the teapot—it’s not as straightforward as it may seem!

Robin received his BFA from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work is in numerous museum collections. He was commissioned to create site-specific sculpture for the National Mall in Washington DC and the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

Installation supported by Susi Levy, Chris Smith, Gail Ferretti and Howard Schaevitz, Rebecca and Gilbert Kerlin, Mark Sardon, Linda and Stephen Coble, Abraham Silverman, Paul Rigby, Barbara and Mike Libove, Nancy and Charles Schmidt, Barry Parker, Julia and Shane Stratton, Veronica Crowe, David R. Flaharty, Frank Hollick, Anne Minich, Margaret and David Phillips, Mil Romanow, Larry Silverman, Susan and Donald Simon, Ava Blitz, Marie Bender-Muir, Wendy and Frederick Rosenfeld, Pamela Sinkler Todd, and Martha Witte.
