Description

This work depicts the grand former estate of Randal Morgan, then vice president of the United Gas Improvement Company, in Wyndmoor, Chestnut Hill. Within the richly colored scene, a bowl of fruit sits atop a set of summertime furniture. A stylish potted orange tree and and elaborate bouquet of flowers atop the stone railing also decorate the space.  Beyond the rail, lush gardens and trees take up the upper half of the painting, all in bright sunlight. Unfortunately the home no longer stands and in the time since has changed to a housing development.
