Description

This painting captures the essence of Provincetown, Massachusetts, in a vividly colored, light-filled scene filled with socializing clusters of people and architecture. The work presents a brilliant vibrancy that brings life to its simple characters in the scene and extends the energy throughout the canvas.

Nancy Maybin Ferguson's work is sometimes compared to that of Maurice Prendergast; Albert Barnes, founder of the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia even purchased one of her pieces to juxtapose with a painting by Prendergast.
