Rich, flat color and geometric shapes combine to create this meticulous, hard-edged abstraction. The open center invites our gaze, as through a window, but this opening into space is attacked from all directions by spiked forms.
Charles E. Kaprelian earned his BFA and MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and has taught painting there as well as at the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts), Drexel University, and Moore College of Art & Design. He has always had an interest in architecture and is an inventor.
