Description

Vivid color and organic shapes swirl together in this collage.

Bill Freeland began his career as a painter studying with the great modernist Hans Hofmann in the 1950s. Only gradually did he find his voice as a sculptor. He graduated from the Philadelphia Museum School of Art (now the University of the Arts) in 1955 and taught for many years at Moore College of Art & Design. Farming tools, windmills, and boats inspired his work.
