Bright and Beautiful

Bright and Beautiful is inspired by Woodmere’s splendid Meissen porcelain chandelier, which presents an array of flowers, canaries, and music-making cupids. Originally, twenty-one candles illuminated this joyous adornment. The contemporary Philadelphia artists featured in this exhibition explore brightness and beauty in multiple forms—in their bodies, in nature, and in the conceptual realm—giving expression to their subjects with the quality of shininess. Bright and Beautiful celebrates their visions and the life-giving power of art.
