Martha Madigan: Life, Leaf, and Body

Martha Madigan: Light, Leaf, and Body is a focused retrospective of Madigan’s career and her camera-less approach to photography. Working with solar photograms, cyanotypes, and printing-out paper, she explored the twin forces of sun and shadow, the cycles of growth and aging in nature and the human body, and the city of Philadelphia. Woodmere's exhibition highlights Madigan's technical innovations and her lasting contributions to the city’s physical and human fabric through public commissions and decades of teaching at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture.
