Led by knowledgeable experts, our docent tour opportunities offer insightful perspectives on exhibitions, artistic movements, and more, allowing visitors to engage with the art of Philadelphia in a meaningful and thought-provoking way.

Guided tours of Charles Knox Smith Hall and Frances M. Maguire Hall by trained docents are available. Reservations are required, at least three weeks in advance, by completing the form at the bottom of this page, or by contacting the Education Department by emailing amonroe@woodmereartmuseum.org or calling 215-247-0476. A team member will follow up to confirm & schedule your tour. There is a flat fee of $35 per docent (up to fifteen adults per docent at Smith Hall, and up to ten adults per docent at Maguire Hall) in addition to admission. There is an additional charge for extra docents.

Tour themes may include: History of Woodmere, Pennsylvania Impressionism, Architectural History, Feminist Art, and current exhibitions on view.

Docents on the road

Woodmere’s Docents on the Road is an outreach initiative for bringing Philadelphia art and artists to your community. Our experienced docents visit your facility and bring the Museum’s collection and exhibitions to you in a PowerPoint presentation designed to suit the interests of your organization or group.

Book a Private Tour

A member of the Woodmere team will reach out to confirm your tour request. To ensure staff availability, programs must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance. Your program is not considered scheduled until you have received confirmation and an invoice from Woodmere Education Department staff. Desired dates will be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
