[lower right of image in graphite]: Violet Oakley / Geneva 1928; [below signature, place and date in red ink]: stamped monogram initials; [verso in black ink]: Dr. Revilliod; [verso label 1 of 2 in black ink]: 23 Dr. Revilliod, 1928; [verso label 2 of 2 in black ink]: An eminent Geneva physician who was / married to Olga Masaryk, daughter of / Thomas Masaryk, President of Czechoslovakia/ Charcoal and pastelA Genevan physician, Revilliod was also an early activist in promoting Switzerland's support of a European union for world peace in 1939-1940. His wife, Olga Masaryk, was the daughter of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, first President of Czechoslovakia and the subject of several portraits by Oakley.
