Description
Philip Berman, known as the sculptor Filippo Bermani, was an artist, art collector, and philanthropist. He was chairman of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Board of Directors and vice chairman of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In 1984, Philip and his wife Muriel, established the Philip and Muriel Berman Center for Jewish Studies at Lehigh University. In addition, in 1987, The Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art was created at Ursinus College, where Philip had previously attended.
