Description

Philip I. Berman was an art collector and great philanthropist in the Philadelphia region. He was chairman of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Board of Directors for many years. As the sculptor under the pseudonym “Filippo Bermani”, he created many of these steel sculptures of animals in their positive and negative shapes which he generously gave to many museums around the country.

This is one of a pair with another work in Woodmere's collection, Bull (Negative).
