Smith, Christopher
Description
Smith was born in Detroit and currently lives and works in Philadelphia. He studied at the University of Michigan, receiving a BFA in Sculpture. Working mainly in clay and direct plaster, his work revolves around the human figure in consideration of ancient forms of figurative sculpture. His works are in private and public collections and has been exhibited extensively in Sweden, the United Kingdom and North America, including the Park Avenue Atrium in New York and Brookgreen Gardens, South Carolina. He has taught at the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial and was a recipient of the Frank Gasparro Memorial Fellowship.
