Osborne has a unique ability to seemingly “pour” fluid forms onto her canvases, here creating a magically luminous, watery landscape. Large swaths of color suggest floating islands. The neon green stem of a fantastical flower reaches upward, countering the horizontal movement of the islands.
Osborne is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), where she was an instructor from 1963 to 2011. She has exhibited throughout the United States, and her work is in the collections of Woodmere, PAFA, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Delaware Art Museum, the Palmer Museum of Art (Pennsylvania), and the McNay Art Museum (San Antonio). She is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Fulbright Fellowship.
