Description
Disc by Paul Sisko conveys a sense of movement and flexibility, as if this big shape of steel could bend and walk. It began with the basic geometric shape of a circle that he changed by creating a separation or cut out in the work. Disc represents a series of explorations he made that focus on separations and the idea of visually changing a shape by a partial or complete separation. In his process, he will bend (as in Disc), twist, crush or tear the metal. A bright yellow version of the same sculpture is on view at the Michener Art Museum.
