Fifty Years Since Stonewall

The Stonewall Uprising in June 1969 ignited the gay liberation movement and the contemporary fight for LGBTQIA civil rights. Together with other museums and organizations around the city, Woodmere commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of Stonewall with works of art on view in its Stairwell Gallery by contemporary self-identified lesbian and gay artists.
