Our kids and teens art programs encourage young artists to explore their creativity through fun, hands-on projects in a variety of mediums. Classes are designed to inspire self-expression, develop artistic skills, and foster a love for art in a supportive and engaging environment.

K4A | Arts in Asia: Traditional and Contemporary Craft

From traditional art techniques like woodblock printing to trending contemporary craft like cold porcelain clay, explore a range of Southeast Asian artmaking across time. This class dives into historically important artwork and the skills behind them, with the opportunity for students to try each approach themselves. Students will use a range of mediums to make their own meaningful, inspired work while also learning about the cultural significance of the respective countries. All materials included. Draw inspiration from the galleries at Maguire Hall with teacher-guided museum tours followed by making art in the MacDonald Children’s Art Studio. Students will become creators and curators by constructing their own diorama of a miniature museum. Each class will be spent developing a different section of their mini museum, including making their own original small-scale artwork. Use a range of materials to design wallpaper, install flooring and build a sculpture garden. The final day of class will include creating admission tickets and brochures, then taking a tour of classmates’ museums. All materials included. Dress for mess!
