[verso in white pencil]: St. Peter from Pincian / Hill - RomeAlthough Horace Oakley owned Villa La Badia, the female portrayed could be Mary Nixon. In a photograph of her posing for Oakley’s A Florentine Lady, Nixon wears a similar hairstyle and tunic.
