Born, raised and educated in the Philadelphia area, Pearl Jeanette Van Sciver (1896-1966, née Aiman) was an artist known for her paintings of landscapes and floral still lifes. She was a graduate of PAFA and the Philadelphia School of Design for Women, now Moore College of Art and Design. In 1924 she married Lloyd Van Sciver, whose father, J.B. Van Sciver, turned his furniture making business in Camden, New Jersey, into a thriving furniture manufacturer through the first half of the 20th century.
