[above and in center of top frame in ink]: Preaching from the / ship; [top frame in ink]: As the people pressed / upon him to hear the word of God / he entered into a ship / and taught the people out of / the ship; [above and in center of center frame in ink]: Miraculous draught of fish; [center frame in ink]: Launch out into the / deep & let down your nets and / they enclosed a great / multitude of fishes. Henceforth / thou shalt catch men; [above and in center of bottom frame in ink]: the tribute money; [bottom frame in ink]: Go to the sea & cast an / hook and take up the fish. And when / thou hast opened his / thou shalt find a piece of money; [lower right in red ink]: stamped signatureThese are studies for three left hand depictions. "Christ Stilling the Storm" is also known as "Christ Stilling the Waves" and "Christ and the Sea."
