Description
Larry Day (1921 - 1998) was born in Philadelphia, PA. After his time in the United States Army during World War II, Day attended Tyler School of Art at Temple University using his GI Bill, obtaining a BS and a BFA. In 1953 after returning from a year in Paris, he was hired at Philadelphia Museum School of Art, now University of the Arts. Day taught there until 1988. His works are featured in the British Museum, London; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia; and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
