Here, Oakley has posed her model in a manner that would defeat many artists. Foreshortened with legs and arms spread wide, head down and buttocks raised, it is a tour-de-force that demonstrates her uncanny ability with the human figure, at once the most complex and the most familiar of all three-dimensional subjects.
