The Lane

Winter scene depicts a lane with houses on the left side, heading towards the bottom of the painting. Snow layers the landscape, undulating across like a blanket. Its softness contrasts the hard-edged houses and ghostly barren trees, but extends its quality to the few feathered trees with their leaves remaining in the middle and background.
