Description
Clouds appear in many of Bramblett’s paintings; their nebulous shapes are often associated with other more identifiable entities such as faces, objects, or animals. They are also powerful symbols, because their amorphous shapes invite viewers to identify a multitude of images within them. Bramblett hopes that his own work encourages viewers to make various associations and to find multiple meanings in it. He also repeatedly includes clouds because, for him, paint is always becoming something else, much like a cloud that is in a constant state of change.
